It's only one of dozens of typos in the page. They're even rushing stuff on their website - that's how focused they are on GW2.
Cool contest. I hope I win! Of course... that requires coming up with a hat idea... hmmm...

Not everyone picks everything based purely on selling price.

Still...
Let's say you did want an Asura. Get a Grawl, cash it out, buy a Asura for 10k and pocket the rest.
It's pretty much a no-brainer.

I'd prefer more creative prizes, honestly.

I'm guessing the people that care enough to enter this contest are all smart enough to know that 2 of the 3 minis offered are a joke and will all take the 3rd.

Wonder how many Asuras or Destroyers you can get by selling the grawl you don't want. >.>
Anyways, another contest I won't be entering, for lack of creativity and drawing abilities. >.>

Yet another ploy by Anet to get some dumb schmuck to draw them up a design for something used in a marketable game, hopefully use it for profit at least a little bit, and keep copyright and full exclusive rights, all while paying absolutely nothing out of their own pocket.
Fun times.
artists should boycott these "contests" to make the developers pay real illustrators who make a living at this what they're worth, instead of seeking out freebies from hobbyists.

I wish people researched a company before they spoke about it.
If you look at the concept artists NCSoft employs, you'd see they are not short on talent.
http://www.conceptart.org/forums/sho...d.php?t=108591
Email them and ask them if they're happy.
This is purely a way to get GW enthusiasts to be able to have a lasting object in the game...
if that's not enough reward, then by all means, don't submit. But it's not like someone's submission is going to cost a starving artist a hot meal...
(And NCSoft's not making any money directly off this, unless there are schmucks who will buy GW purely for a festival hat!)
EDIT: Hell, it would help if you actually read the release:

We're thrilled to let you know that this year, the Guild Wars Art Team is going to use a fan-created concept as a basis for their design of the Grenth Wintersday helm. This means that when the yearly Wintersday battles take place between Dwayna and Grenth, the hat that Grenth gifts to players may be based on your design!

(emphasis mine)
Yep. Those poor souls....

wow...jaded much? I think the contests are fun. They give fans a chance to show off a bit, play around and maybe win a prize. Why must everything be some kind of big business attempt to rip off the little guy? I think this is what killed Santa guys.
